Once returned to the bin, the basket elevates it's contents allowing maximum air flow in and around the container to help extend the life of your fruits and veggies. The lid has an integrated humidity control slide to insure maximum freshness. Less air flow creates higher humidity within the container mostly enjoyed by vegetables. A higher air flow helps maintain low humidity for fruits as well as thin skinned vegetables such as peppers and squash.
